Scene
1:It’s the 1920’s and four people are in Harlem, New York. Philip, Bobby,
Robert, and Anglia are in Bobby’s restaurant about to make a order while Robert
is in the middle of finishing his meal.
Philip:
Well good evenin’ Bobby, the misses and I will have a number 2 with large fries
and 2 Cokes.
Bobby:
good evenin’ Mister Philip and Mrs. Anglia, your order is coming right up.
Philip:
well it’s nice to see you back in town mister Robert. How’s the town treatin’
you after being gone for ten years?
Robert:
its nice to see you too mister Philip, and I see you and miss Anglia have
finalized the marriage. Oh and yes the town is treating me good so far, it’s
good to be back in Harlem.
Bobby:
Yes I do remember you from high school I guess you really went off into that
school like you said you were. Yep, but
some of us stayed in the good old Harlem, and while you were in college, I was here making a livin’ but
some of us changed for the better and I guess you can be happy with your degree.
Robert:
Now, bobby you can’t be mad that some of us parted ways and made different
choices, but yes I am happy with my degree. Taking the look on your face I’ll
take my leave now, good-bye mister Philip and misses Anglia, it was quite nice
to see old friends of mine.
Anglia:
yes, it was nice, bye mister Robert.
Robert
leaves, and Anglia, Philip, and bobby are left.
Anglia:
That was mean of you bobby, yes we were all thinking it but did you really have
to put him out there on the spot, next time you should really watch it he is
running for mayor and is winning too.
Bobby:
Anglia you shouldn’t tell me what to be doin’ and stay in a womens’ place.
Philip:
NOW, that’s no way to talk to my wife, I hope you are really happy with your
place here because you just lost two friends and don’t ever look for us to come
back to this place and we’ll warn others of this unwelcomed business.
Bobby: well
then so be it, now get out my restaurant an’ don’t come back.
Philip:
And maybe you shouldn’t had dropped out of school after the 11th
grade you still need to learn grammar, no one wants to eat food from a person
who can hardly speak his first language.
Bobby:
well then so be it.
Philip:
come on Anglia, its not the type of place you should want to be in.
Anglia:
yes you’re right Philip, I’ll be sure to tell everyone how you’ve been doing
mister Bobby.
Bobby:
oh just get out already. And don’t come back.
Robert
walk back in the restaurant
Robert:
sorry I just came back for my hat…
Bobby:
how bout all ya’s get out
Everyone
leaves and bobby is left alone.
